Hike & Swim

There are some great hikes that start and/or end at a great swimming area. In case you are new, or have forgotten, here are the coolest, wettest, hikes at AshlandTrails.com.

First – 3 hikes along the Upper Rogue River

There are many opportunities to stop, picnic, and swim around at the occasional open spot. Don’t get super drunk or super high, this is a wild river and there are many snags and currents to watch for.

Second – Hikes near Applegate Lake

As long as the lake is high, you should have access to the shore and some great inflatable, floating fun. Don’t overlook the beach at the Hart-Tish boat ramp.

Third – Ashland super-local water

Alright, not really any trails involved, but great cool down spots near town. Beware, at the end of summer bacteria levels become a problem.

Fourth – Feeling lucky?

If you go up here, you are on your own. Not for most people, but perfect for some. Just… be careful.

Fifth – Grants Pass… not as far away as you think!

Best Hike/Swim combo in the area. You can bring everyone in the family and they will all find something to love here. Worth the 5 bucks!
