Rogue River Rafting

Rogue River Rafting is a 3 hours drift on a moderate stretch of the Rogue River. Outfitted from Shady Cove.

Driving

– This 55 minute drive goes through Medford so just get on interstate 5 and head north. Exit the 5 in Medford on Crater Lake Drive. Turn right and drive for 40 minutes through Medford, White City, and Eagle Point until you cross the Rogue River and hit Shady Cove.

Parking

– There are many outfitter in Shady Cove so whomever you’re using, park in their parking lot. Should be right off the main road there.

The Adventure

– This is not crazy white water rafting with Class 4 rapids and a tanned, muscled guide yelling “Stroke! Stroke! Stroke!” at you all day. This is a fairly mellow self guided float. If you’re sober, can swim, and wear a life jacket, it’s super safe and easy. Just Google Shady Cove Rafting and pick an outfitter. You can get a bigger raft, small kayaks, even a tanned, muscled guide if you’re into that kind of thing. I use Rapid Pleasure Rafting and the rates are $15 to $35 per person depending on the number of people you have and the raft you get. They start by driving you up to the beginning of your trip (about 15 minutes) and 3 hours later you get out of the river right at your car. You are closer to getting home, but your wet butt won’t have much time to dry before it hits the seat cushions of your Hyundai.
