Pearsony Falls

Pearsony Falls is a short, easy stroll down to some short, easy falls. Or… add a longer, more difficult hike along the Rogue River Gorge.

Driving

– Over an hour drive towards Crater Lake. Jump on Interstate 5 towards Medford. Jump off Interstate 5 in Medford on the Crater Lake/ Route 62 exit. Turn right and take the New Bypass around the businesses and turn left when that road dead ends into the old Route 62.
Now, stay on Route 62 through White City, Shady Cove, Trail, past Lost Creek Lake and before you reach Prospect, turn right on the small Prospect Access Road. That hits Mill Creek drive so turn left. Drive past the Mill Creek Falls parking area, over the Rogue River, and look to your right for the parking area.

Parking

– There is a large, paved lot with restroom facilities but – There Is No Sign On The Street! If you find yourself buying turkey jerky at the Prospect Market you’ve gone too far.

The Adventure

– The trail starts next to the restrooms and is wide and smooth a couple hundred yards down to Pearsony Falls. You can walk around some little trails on both sides of the falls.
After the falls the trail gets smaller and heads downhill and arrives at a great viewpoint of the Avenue of the Boulders. And then… the trail gets much smaller and slightly scrambley and follows along the top of the Rogue River Gorge for less than a mile to the top of Mill Creek Falls. Warning! The trail runs along a 150′ cliff and it’s a little sketchy! Do not walk off a cliff! That is an order!
